Preparation of Chlovelle's 4th birthday - Strawberry shortcake theme!
7:20 PM
We just celebrated her birthday in advance last Sunday (10 March),
which is 8 days earlier.
Doing this detailed entry on how we prepared her party stuff so
she can read it next time! I had a lot of fun putting all the stuff together! (:
Initially our plan was to have a simple and quiet birthday celebration for her this year.
Like just 3 of us.
Then she told me that she wanted her friends to sing bday song for her,
and she wanted a strawberry shortcake cake.
After discussing with hubby, we go ahead in planning a party for her since she requested it.
Every kid love a fun and enjoyable party with lots of friends around right? LOL!
Googled ideas for the design of her cake and took this as an example.
I prefer strawberries instead of polka dots so i drew this for the baker.
HAHAHA! I know it is horrible la, but i the baker totally beautify my drawing for me.
I AM SO HAPPY PLEASE.
Anyway i order the cake and the cupcakes from the same shop " Dimples cupcake factory"
( you can view the store from my previous post)
Dimples have a similar cupcake stand from the stock photo but it was abit pricey for me.
So Amelia introduced me "thecupcaketree" and i bought this cardboard cupcake stand.
I wanted to use this pink liners but apparently, Dimples bake a bigger cupcake than the regulars we see.
Soooo... I will use it for my own next time.
Stuff i bought with Yvonne at michaels.
I saw a strawberry felt hairclip selling at $3usd, and thought i should just make one my self.
3 pieces of felt only cost $1 please. LOL
The man behind all the drawings.
Hubby is amazing and totally arty person.
Hubby's creation! Too cute!
I wanted to use this as photo taking prop, but GOODNESS, i totally forgot about this yesterday.
Still very upset with myself.
Ordered strawberry related toppers for the cupcake, hoping to make it extra berrish or something.
All this preparation was done in Feburary, then there was new year celebration etc,
i totally forgot to continue to do her bday stuff until the week before her party.
Checked the calendar and was like " OHSHIT!"
Her party is one week away and i have not book the party place& her cake was not ordered.
All my crafts isn't complete, goodies bag not done up too. SO DEAD.
DIY invitation. Template was found online.
Invitation was filled up with glittery pen i found at Michaels!
Little berry dots to paste on her goodies bag to her friends.
Went Michaels again with hubby, and found this easter to-go box that totally suit the theme.
Before
After. This is so super cute la!
Template can be found in google too.
Few days before the party, i showed amelia this pic.
I think she got a little worried as i have not glue, paint and decorate her cupcake stand.
I am really a little short of time LOL too last min
Hubby actually spray paint it white for me.
Not noticeable, but i don't like it matt.
We also glued the joining points together so it can be sturdier.
After the glue dry up, i went ahead to stick ribbon at the rim (taught by amelia too LOL)
Hubby chose green because her cupcakes/cake will be pink,
we don't want the whole thing to clash like a big pink mess.
I wasn't satisfy with the look of the stand but left it aside while i brainstorm for more ideas.
At the beginning of the week of her party, Chlovelle was down with fever and cold.
After med, i brought her out for a little while to get treats for the goodies bag.
Content inside. It is so difficult to find strawberry related stuff!
I really tried my best
Close up of the treats.
Very pink very pink inside.
Love these cute boxes, goodness
Sealed it up!
Last min decide to print some thank you note (template also can be found on google)
Sorry for the blur pic.
I think i do until hands soft. HAHAAH!
AWWWW! Berrilicious!
Hubby specifically instructed me to cut ovals and paste it on the strawberry.
But i got too lazy so i merely paint it on.
Overall effect okay right?
(aiya doesn't matter, i forgot to use. ): )
Attached cake pop stick so it will be easy for the kids to hold it.
SOOOO NICE!
On of the night, i decided to cover up all the rims because i cannot stand the cupboard look.
I am sure the guest will notice it, because it is BROWN.
WAH~ Immediately look better! HAHAHA
And thank you yvonne for noticing this cute strawberry sticker at michaels,
i actually bought without knowing what to do with it.
Who knows it is of good use now.
Amelia pass me some alphabets to decorate the stand as initially it was too plain.
THANK YOU BABE! I know i bother you with alot of smses. But i know you wont mind HAHA
And a lot others i bother for nothing also, i was just paranoid sorry LOL
The alphabets she gave was a little too small, but so glad she gave me the idea.....
So i went to michaels and found the perfect font and it is sparkly toooo!
( i know cannot be seen in this picture)
On friday night, which is 2 days before her party...
I told hubby i have not do her clip yet.
The husband quickly googled some cute pictures and draw it for me.
I should totally do up a strawberry tutorial entry too man~
It is very easy ( if you only do one), plus super duper cute.
Fast forward.....
Glue doesn't work on felt very well,
so i sew them together.
The strawberry seeds was created by thread too.
I found a old clip at home and use super glue to stick them together.
I was thinking, since i have to much felt left,
might as well do some for the girls.
Immediately regret my decision LOL
The "head" was a bit challenging, and i thought i was turning blind from sewing.
Last but not least, her birthday dress from crazy8 which so super fit the theme.
I was walking around grapevine mills one day,
and decide to walk into the store (i have never been in it before)
When both hubby and me turn around, we were like STRAWBERRRY DRESSSS!
Super happy because it was on sale and i somehow have their coupon in my bag.
FATED.
Stay tune for her birthday pictures.
