Gave everyone a scare when I had to head down to TMC today.
Last night before bedtime, my vision became a little blurry & I started having a flash spot( as if someone took your picture with a flash) on both my eyes. Panic a little when the spot became bigger but didn't want to alarm anyone since it was already 12mn. And for the whole night I keep having pains at the lower right abdomen which I'm not sure why. End up I keep going to the bathroom to help with the pain.
So today I had a nagging feeling that I should call my gynae to check (just in case), and he was suspecting I am having preeclamsia. Long story short, he wanted me go down TMC asap to check out the fetal heart rate plus my blood pressure. I tried to ask for a Monday check up as I do not have a history of high blood pressure but he said things to scare me into going in. -.-
SOS my sis to pick velle from her enrichment class and quickly cab down to TMC. The first nurse quickly brushed me away and I actually waited 1 whole hour near the lift when i should be in the observation ward! But end of the day, it was just a false alarm. I do have a few painless contraction but it is normal considering I'm 37 weeks now. Fetal heart rate is ranging from 145 to 155. My blood pressure is also normal. Phewww.
My mom was with me all along, and I was thinking if I had to deliver today it wouldn't be tt bad. At least I'm not alone lol. I am thankful for my family. And I'm glad it is just a false alarm this time. Thank God!

Taobao hauls #2

This is my first time ordering bulky items from Taobao using OOPS as my forwarder.
You can google oops and on their web they have detailed guide on how to use their service.
And because this is my 2nd time ordering from Taobao ( first time i was just testing water using 4px),
I use their DIY Reship Service.
Basically, they give you a warehouse address in china, and you just ship your taobao items to
that address. It will be very confusing at first, but read it like 5 times and you will soon understand what
they mean. I have to thank ML for teaching me all these, couldn't order these without her help!
On 8 September, I ordered from 21 different stores from Taobao.
OOPS (CHINA) received them for me and packed them into 7 packages.
Total volume is 1.4 CBM & I paid $160 for the shipping fee back to Singapore.
Summary :
Waiting time - 8 september to 29 september
Price I paid for the goods - $600 SGD
Price I paid for shipping (include tax) - $160
OOPS uses a delivery company call T-L freight, and i saw on their FB that someone was complaining
about this particular company. But no issues for me though!
They kindly asked where do i need this huge package to be, and place it gently in one of my bedrooms.

The little ones had so much fun, I think they can just keep going. I hope we could bring velle out to play with trev after the baby comes out. Paiseh to keep asking ppl to come up because I'm immobile~~

Week 36

Almost there! We are on week 36 today!
Life have pretty much been the same lately, lots of aches and pains that I shall not re-emphasize lol.
Hubby left for his 2 weeks deployment yesterday. We went to send him off & velle got so emo after we board the cab. Maybe sending him wasn't a good idea after all.... She was chanting 'I miss daddy' all the way till bedtime & we ended up sleeping tgt because she seemed so sad.
Haze hits a high of 317 this morning but i still brought her to school. Activities & friends helps her forget about Daddy for a short while... heee!
Picked her up early and went for movies too.. now I'm feeling so tired but unwilling to sleep 😛
It's finally weekends wheeee ~~~

34 Weeks

We are on week 34 today! I'm weighing at 47.5 now & baby quek at 2.1kg.
I'm experiencing many annoying pregnancy symptoms like leg cramps, shortness of breath, fatique and dizziness. Most I didn't have it when I had velle.
Also, hubby will be away for 2 weeks and will only be back when I'm 38 weeks. I hope baby quek will stay in till then!

Taobao - ing for the first time!

My taobao loots finally arrived! I ordered on the 6th and it arrive on the 17th.. This is my first time ordering from them and wow, they really have a huge selection of things at a very cheap price!!
Thank you ML for guiding me through everything. I followed her instructions and consolidate my orders via 4px. Shipping cost about $33 for a 5kg plus shipment, which sum up to $80 for shipping+items.
No pictures of my loot, but I got alot of hooks and storage boxes to organize my stuff. I also bought alot of drawer liners!!
IKEA is selling 1 roll of it at 6 plus but taobao is definitely cheaper!
My cart if full of things again and I'm gonna use oops next. I want to ship a sofa bed back this time.... bad idea? Lol

29 weeks 5 days

Went for a routine check up with hubby this morning. Always looking forward to such days because we get to see baby Quek!
We arrive 15 mins before our appt time and the clinic was packed and we had a long wait before our turn. I guess Dr Ang is pretty popular huh?
Dr Ang brief us about the symptoms of delivery and some admission details. Couldn't decide between Mount A or TMC yet. Actually I've always set my heart out to deliver at Mount A but it's a 4 bedder room. Hmmm. Any advise?
Anyways baby Quek is growing well, weighing about 1.4kg now. I've stitch both their 3D pictures together( velle's & baby) . I can't believe they look so alike!

We recieve news that our boxes might be arriving soon! I really really can't wait. I missed my bed sooooo much.
I'll might do a blog post of our house next time with the cost of items we bought ( if I can remember)
It is really expensive setting up a house omg! We are running dry on funds & that's why we are holding back on some furnitures and appliances. So the post might come very late, maybe till I feel my home is what I want it to be?
But it's very fun to set up a home with someone you love. Buying stuff bit by bit & within our means. So now, I have a space allocated for microwave and it is still empty haha! My sofa is arriving next week. My bed headboard should be up next week too. YAY!
I have no other pictures to offer, but my dining area is the most decent place in the house. So here you go... Expandable tempered glass dining set & hanging 3 piece ceiling lights.

Officially in my 3rd trimester!

I am officially in my 3rd trimester (27 weeks) on Friday. This pregnancy seemed to zoom pass really quickly because I am so busy most of the time. I'm not as marveled by the little movements as my 1st, is it normal? Haha!
Anyways, baby quek is still as active as ever & seem to be always right under my boob. I'm guessing I'm carrying high this time. Baby also reacts to sound and gets startled by drills and knocking which is ADORABLE.
I'm seeing Dr lawrence ang now, and he did a 3D scan for me and assured that there's no cleft lip etc. Thank God!
My next appointment should be 2 weeks later and I can't wait! Hehe!

Kitchen reno is complete!

Yay!! My sink and faucet is up yesterday thanks our experience plumber! Finally our kitchen reno is done. Oh yeah! Currently surviving with 3 bowls, 3 plates, 3 cups and few other necessary items that we got from Ikea last week. Can't wait for my boxes to arrive to fill up my kitchen!
Anyways we got our kitchen faucet from the States, and because it isn't manufactured locally, it's really hard to find a bolt that fit! Thankfully my plumber is very experienced and knows a shop that sells it. (But that small, tiny bolt cost alot!)
He told us he felt a pinched when he purchase it for us lol. I just really wanted my kitchen to function leh, how much we still have to pay up right?
So people, just buy local faucet, save you the trouble.
Currently waiting for the sealant before I start washing all my stuff! Yay!

More things done!

It has been almost a week since I last updated. The house is more or less complete. Our citygas and dining lights went up today, now what is pending is the master bed, wardrobe, kitchen sink and bathroom fixtures to be up.
I use to be confused why people's renovation got delayed, but now I understand why... sometimes the things that is delivered is faulty or the carpentry have defects or some designs that my ID propose just wouldn't work out. Thus, I would say that my house will only be done with the reno at the end of July.

Day 2 of carpentry

Day 2 of confining myself in the room whole the reno goes on. I literally eat and read the entire day away...
Anyways the carpentry is up really quickly. The men work from 10 to 6 and my kitchen, shoe cabinet, tv console, wardrobe and bed frame are up! That's very amazing.
They are not sloppy with their work and took about 2 to 3 breaks in between. They clean up after they fix a compartment and make sure the tiles are not scratched. Occasionally they leave black prints on my wall but I'm sure it can be clean off easily.
My ID, Lisa, is a very meticulous and detailed woman. She sees things that I can't see and try not to shortchanged me. For example, she inspected the bi- fold door and told me she spotted defect and want it exchanged. I didn't see anything but since she want to change a better piece for me, I don't mind lol!
I hope all these end soon. Quite sick of the dust arghhh.

Hello bump!

My bump is officially Baby Quek. That's how hubby & velle calls it now.
Baby quek is very active, always kicking, pushing and there are nights I just couldn't sleep because of the movement. I can't imagine what will happen in the 3rd trimester.
My first check up in Singapore will be this coming Sat! I hope everything is fine!

Our bi - fold doors and roller blinds are up! Very happy with the blinds because our house is facing the killer sun, goodness soooo hot!
Carpentry gonna start tomorrow and it will take 2 days. Meanwhile I just gonna tolerate more dust and drilling.. 忍。
