My daughter has reflux
11:36 AM
As much as my heart hurts seeing velle in pain,by the end of the day, my heart of compassion, seems to fly out my body.Leaving, frustration, exhausion and anger.I clearly know whats going on with her,i know too its causing her pain thus her crying, but i cant help to feel really frustrated.Everyday by night time,i cant take it anymore.I pray diligently everyday, every meal, that each meal will get better. You do know babies have lots of meals right? My days goes, feeding her, burping her inbetween (crying)Holding her up for 30 mins (she doesnt want it, wanna sleep)By the time im ready to put her down, she v awake, but i force her to sleep, because she needs it.She would cry cause lay down v pain,i would sleep with her, so comfort her. Then, 30mins-1 hour, wake her crying, unable to really comfort her. This is what i do for ALL feedings. And im home alone, wishing someone to talk to me to distract me,or a helping hand so i can ease the ache.So i still pray, velle will get better.SOON.Please, if not by the time i should be going back,im either thin like bones, or i am already DEAD.
Chlovelle really cries alot.
Sometimes i even think if she is a happy baby.
I'm sure i wasnt grumpy or fussy when i was pregnant.
So i went online and search
"My baby cries a lot"
Now im even more sure her crying is because of her reflux,
not because she is fussy, demanding or a bad baby.
Below is what i found out.
If your infant spits up a lot,
or regularly pulls away during feedings,
often stretching and turning her neck,
gastroesophageal reflux disease may be making her irritable.
GERD is a complication of frequent reflux --
stomach acids backing up into the esophagus
and sometimes out of the mouth.
Talk to her doctor if you suspect GERD.
After reading the article from the net,
now lewis & i is 100% confirm our baby has REFLUX!
I did not know she have reflux because she is not having the normal reflux.
Normal reflux babies spits up often,
but Velle dont.
Velle is having something call the "silent reflux"
Silent reflux in infants is hard to detect
A baby need not spit up in order to experience baby acid reflux.
This is called baby silent reflux and many of these babies will be
mistakenly diagnosed with colic. While it's more convenient from
a laundry standpoint, silent reflux can be more painful for your
baby than spitting up since the acid burns on the way up and on
the way down, causing twice as much discomfort and damage to the throat.
Symptoms of silent reflux in infants
Your baby may exhibit only some of these symptoms:
poor weight gain or rapid weight gain
gulping with a painful look on the face
sour breath, wet sounding burps
persistent or chronic cough
frequent hiccups
sudden burst of painful crying
painful wakeups from sleep or poor sleeping habits
poor feeding habits, possible feeding aversions
neck or back arching during or after feeding
excessive fussiness, crying or colic
demands to be carried constantly
red or salmon colored throat
blood in the stool or spit up
Its really hard to take care of babies with acid reflux,
considering im a new mummy >.<
Ofcourse velle feels very comfortable too.
Poor thing.
Keep us in prayers,
i hope she will get better soon.
Love,
yanwen
